An idea that roofing can be better, and that the Whistler architecture is unique but deserves to be recognized. Peter started Pocklington Building Systems in 1987. PBS’s major standing seam project is Whistler’s Audain Museum, which won the company a Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) Award for design in 2016. A standing seam roof is usually installed over a layer of drainage mat, which also allows the roof to vent properly. Standing seam roofs have virtually no exposed screws, which minimizes maintenance costs. A standing seam can last up to 50 years. Diamond Rib roofs have exposed screws and are less and less installed due to the maintenance costs involved in the long run. Screws require replacement every 5-7 years. The sections where each rib intersects, or inter-locks is diamond rib shaped. Each panel has a male and a female side similar to standing seam but instead of being joined with a seamer, they lock into each other thanks to the perforations on the rolled out panels.
